The link above will take you to the Rutherford County web page and from there you can click on Elementary Math and then click on 5 MATH Wk 1.
I hope this helps for you and your child to have some meaningful time in math this week. I miss you all so much and look forward to our being back together again. Please watch DOJO for videos and I hope to use TEAMS to meet with students sometime soon. BIG HUGS!! Love, Ms. J.
- Daily - students should work on I-READY Math for at least 15 minutes. This program is designed to instruct students based on how they assessed on their January benchmark. I have not scheduled specific lessons, but I may as we progress through this quarantined time.
- Weekly - an added instructional component for our students will be Study Island. Students should know how to access any and all lessons without my assigning them; however, I will assign 2 or 3 lessons each week. The most important part of these skills is that the students READ THE LESSONS that are part of the skill and watch any/all Khan Academy videos to support the instruction. They may want to practice in game mode and that is absolutely fine. They may also want or need you to sit with them and complete a set of 10 if needed or if time permits. Please have them email me if they are struggling on a given skill and maybe we can work out some face time to collaborate. Students will see the assigned Study Islands once they log on to Clever and Study Island. I will leave these assigned until next Monday.
- OPTIONAL - Prodigy games are always available. I may be linking specific standards here as well.
- Monday's plan includes a fun DESMOS activitiy (link on RCS page above) that should be pretty easy for our students. Definitely have them screen shot and email me if they have any questions.
- Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday have a specific problem. I would like for students to work all three of these on one piece of paper (labeled) if possible and on Thursday, take a picture and upload it on their DOJO Portfolio. I would like to see their thinking.
- FRIDAY FUN DAY - The Fraction Splat series is something I think our students will LOVE. It may require you to download the activities but if you can access and use it, the kids will be challenged!! Love it!
